10/23/2014 | HIPOWER SYSTEMS Conducts On-Site Training at LarMar Industries; Sessions Highlight Natural Gas Generator and Diesel Generator Technologies
HIPOWER SYSTEMS, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment in the U.S. and Canada, today announced it has completed a two-day training session with its distributor LarMar Industries, a leading generator sales and service firm based in Texas and Oklahoma. The training was conducted to further company personnel's familiarity with HIPOWER SYSTEMS engines and generators, in particular its HRJW 175 T6 diesel generators and its popular HRNG 430 and HRNG 300 natural gas generators.
"We frequently perform one-on-one training with LarMar personnel and other distributors out in the field, where the units will be in use," said HIPOWER SYSTEMS Regional Service Manager Ron Laroe. "HIPOWER SYSTEMS has a strong tradition of training, and we believe it is equally important for them to explore natural gas and diesel generator features and learn about their advanced capabilities in a more traditional training setting."
The two-day event included outdoor, hands-on training and demonstrations in addition to classroom instruction.
During the first day of the training session, held at LarMar Industries' offices in Odessa, TX, HIPOWER SYSTEMS technicians introduced LarMar personnel to the John Deere engine that powers the HRJW 175 T6. The discussion included specifications of the engine, the advanced capabilities of the Deep Sea Electronics controllers that HIPOWER SYSTEMS uses, and the overall features of the genset. The training also included a hands-on demonstration of the generator running on a load bank to accurately simulate its performance under oilfield operating conditions.
On Day Two of the session, LarMar Industries personnel explored HIPOWER SYSTEMS' natural gas generator product line, specifically the popular HRNG 430 and HRNG 300. Through a morning classroom session, attendees became familiar with the generators and the software that runs on them. In the afternoon, students were given a demonstration of generator "paralleling," where two generators (in this case, one diesel and one natural gas) are connected in tandem to ensure power continuity if one of the generators fails. The session completed with a lesson on troubleshooting and repairing common problems in the field, from broken wires to failing throttle bodies and O2 sensors.
"Every time we offer training to our distributors' personnel, they do a great job of sharing it with buyers," said HIPOWER SYSTEMS President Rafael Acosta. "That in turn reduces service issues and gives the final owners even greater value from their purchases."
