The City of Houston awarded Boyer, Inc. a major wastewater flow diversion project connecting the East Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Southeast Plant. The work required extensive underground tunneling using heavy-duty boring equipment operating approximately 7,800 feet in length and 60 feet below ground. Because the generator had to be installed before any other equipment could access the site, power availability, reliability, and long-term performance were essential from day one.
The Challenge
This demanding application required a power solution capable of:
Boyer, Inc. selected the HIPOWER Twin-Pack HRVW-1250, featuring two 625 kVA generators mounted on a single trailer and operating in Power Management Mode. This intelligent configuration allows one generator to operate as the primary unit while the second automatically starts whenever additional load is required. As demand decreases, the second unit returns to standby, maximizing fuel efficiency while ensuring reserve power is always available.
