HNI-30, 40, 50, 60 & 80 kW
HNI-100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 450, 500, 650, 800 & 1000 kW
5 NEW POWER NODES EXPANSION
Available in voltages ranging from 240/120 1PH to 600/347 3PH. The Spark-Ignited Standby Series can support any low voltage stationary application.
FUEL SYSTEM FLEXIBILITY
Available in Natural Gas, LP, LPV, or Dual Fuel configurations — providing unmatched flexibility and resilience. No fuel derates needed between natural gas and propane up to the HNI 60.
The HEAVY DUTY INDUSTRIAL | HNI SERIES is engineered for critical applications, such as data management, healthcare, construction, and any installation where dependable standby power is essential.
The HIPOWER Heavy Duty Industrial Spark-Ignited Standby Series is now certified to ULc 2200, 3rd Edition, reflecting our continued commitment to the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. This latest certification ensures compliance with the most current industry requirements, providing our customers with dependable power solutions engineered for demanding standby applications. HIPOWER is proud to be one of the few generator manufacturers in the power generation market to carry this certification.
Reliable Engines
HIPOWER SYSTEMS selected Origin Engines as the preferred prime mover partner for this range. The HNI-30 features the 3.6L naturally aspirated engine, while the HNI-40, HNI-50, HNI-60, and HNI-80 leverage the 3.6L turbocharged intercooled engine. All engines are EPA-certified for 60 Hz emergency standby applications and operate at 1800 RPM, utilizing E-controls Engines management software.
Each model is coupled with four-pole Stamford alternators to deliver excellent transient voltage response, with an optional permanent magnet generator and MX341 or MX321 voltage regulator for applications requiring enhanced performance.
HIPOWER SYSTEMS partners with Power Solutions International (PSI) as its preferred engine supplier for the heavy-duty industrial standby and prime power HNI Series.
PSI engines are utilized across models ranging from HNI-100 to HNI-1000, delivering reliable performance for demanding applications. Purpose-built for heavy-duty industrial use, PSI engines are engineered for maximum durability, long service life, and consistent operation under extreme conditions. Their robust design ensures dependable power when it matters most.
All engines used in the new HNI models are designed to operate at 1800 RPM for 60 Hz emergency standby applications and are EPA-certified for such use, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering optimal performance.
The engines are coupled to four-pole Stamford Alternators with AS440 voltage regulators to provide excellent transient voltage response. However, if greater transient voltage response is required then the HNI series can be optioned with a permanent magnet generator and MX341 or MX321 voltage regulator.
CONTROLLERS
Genset functions are controlled through a Deepsea DSE 7410 MKII controller. The controller is an auto start control module suitable for a wide variety of single genset applications. The DSE7410 MKII has built in ethernet communication providing advanced remote monitoring as well as being able to be integrated into a building management system via MODBUS.
CIRCUIT BREAKER OPTIONS
The HNI series offers exceptional flexibility, with the capability—when properly optioned—to operate on multiple fuel configurations, including natural gas, liquid propane, liquid propane vapor, and dual fuel. This versatility provides unmatched flexibility and resilience for critical standby applications. Additionally, no fuel derating is required between natural gas and propane models up to the HNI 60, ensuring consistent performance regardless of the selected fuel source.
“With Dual Fuel operation, meaning the genset's primary fuel source is natural gas and secondary fuel source is LP or LPV, this gives the customer the ability of using their existing natural gas supply to their building while also providing the security of having onsite fuel storage with liquid propane in the case of a disaster and the natural gas supply to the building has been shut-off”. EJ LeBlanc, Sales Engineer
Fast and Easy Servicing
The HNI Series is engineered for fast, accessible service. Each model includes four access doors, and service-friendly oil and coolant drain points. The enclosure—fabricated and assembled at HIPOWER’s Olathe, KS facility—is constructed from 11-gauge steel and finished with a powder coat that exceeds a 1400-hour salt spray test, ensuring superior durability for stationary applications.
“As with every HIPOWER generator, service accessibility is at the forefront of the HNI design,” said Rafael Acosta, President of HIPOWER SYSTEMS. “Without a consistent maintenance schedule, standby generators cannot perform when needed most. Ensuring easy access to common service points is critical to long-term reliability.”
to be used in the stationary and specifying markets with options ranging from fuel types, enclosures, enclosure accessories, I/O expansions, and breaker types, along many other options creating an almost unlimited number of combinations to be able to meet almost any engineering specification.
